The Importance of pH

Alkalize Your Body with Baking Soda

The body is largely made up of water, a medium which is biologically necessary in allowing nutrients, oxygen and biochemicals to be transported from place to place in the body. This water-based medium can have either acid or alkaline properties, measured on a logarithmic scale and expressed the ‘pH’. The pH scale runs from 1 to 14. On this scale, 1.0 to 6.9 is considered acidic, 7.0 is neutral, and 7.1 to 14.0 is alkaline.

The lower the pH number, the greater the acidity, the higher the pH number, the greater the alkalinity. Optimal body pH should average 7.0 or above.

The pH scale is logarithmic. This means a small decrease in pH translates to a large INCREASE in acid level. For example, a pH of 6 is ten times more acidic than pH 7.0, a pH of 5.0 is 100 times more acidic than pH 7.0 and pH 4.0 is 1,000 times more acidic than pH 7.0!

70% of the body consists of water, which must be kept clean. If you don’t change the water in a fish bowl, it eventually gets dirty and the fish will die from suffocation because the oxygen is removed and the water becomes acidic. The same thing happens in the human body, which contains about 10 gallons of water. When your body becomes acidic (when your pH drops below 7.0) the oxygen level in your body is reduced.

Candida is a fungus and is part of the 2 - 3 pounds of microflora found in the human digestive tract. Allowing the body to become too acidic (pH below 7.0) allows the overgrowth of Candida which can escape from the stomach through the walls of the digestive tract, allowing it to spread throughout the cells and tissues in the body. Candida thrives in a low oxygen, acidic environment.

Dr. Tulio Simoncini, MD, an oncologist in Italy found that tumors he was removing from his patients were full of Candida, the same fungus found in the stomach. His research and subsequent success with treating cancer as a fungal infection has convinced him that what is being called cancer is actually a fungal infection, with tumors comprising colonies of Candida fungus. He is successfully destroying cancer tumors with Baking Soda. Baking Soda is a poison to Candida cells, it hits the Candida cells with a shockwave of alkalinity, which allows much more oxygen into Candida cells than they can tolerate, and destroys them.

According to Dr. Simoncini, Baking Soda is safe, extremely inexpensive and unstoppably effective when it comes to killing Candida. Candida can only live in an acid environment, and it dies when it comes into contact with Baking Soda because of its high alkalinity.

Optimal Health Depends On Healthy Acid/Alkaline Balance

Average body pH of 7.0 or above ensures:

  • Vitality
  • Strength
  • Mental Clarity
  • Increased oxygen
  • Increased energy
  • Improved digestion
  • Improved elimination
  • Good productive sleep
  • Ability to cope with stress
  • Increased immune function
  • Increased sexual drive & function

Acidic body pH (consistently below 7.0) results in the following symptoms:

  • Obesity
  • Fatigue
  • Joint pain
  • Weakness
  • Liver damage
  • Poor digestion
  • Muscle cramps
  • Kidney damage
  • Sleep disorders
  • Fungal infections
  • Reduced oxygen
  • Parasite colonization
  • Decreased mental clarity
  • Intestinal & bowel toxicity
  • Skin disorders (rashes, etc)
  • Osteoporosis & tooth decay
  • Fatigue & lack of motivation
  • Under active immune system
  • Sexual & reproductive disorders
  • Physiological and neurological disorders
  • Chronic inflammation and cancer, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, IBS, fibromayalgia, etc.

HOW TO TEST YOUR pH

The best time to test pH is about 1 hour before a meal, or 2 hours after a meal.

1.   Purchase pH test strips  that come in a container with a graduated color scale to help you measure the pH of the urine sample.

2.  Collect a “clean-catch” (midstream) urine sample in a plastic cup. All you need is 1/2 inch in bottom of cup.

3.   Dip a pH test strip into the urine sample. Allow 15 seconds for the color change on the test strip.

4.  Compare the colors on the test strip to the colors on the chart and find the closest color match.

5.  Write down the matching pH number – keep a record of your test results.

6.  Test once in the morning and once in the afternoon or evening for 7 days and record each reading, then figure out what your average pH is.

7.   Your pH readings over a period of time should average 7.0

8.   If your readings are consistently below 7.0, take take steps to increase your pH.

Baking Soda is safe, extremely inexpensive of alkalizing the body. Begin by adding ½ teaspoon to a quart of drinking water and monitor you pH. Increase or decrease the amount of baking soda added to your drinking water to until your average pH remains at 7.0 or above.

NOTE:

Adverse reactions to the administration of sodium bicarbonate can include metabolic alkalosis, edema due to sodium overload, congestive heart failure and hypertension due to increased sodium. In those who consume a high calcium or dairy-rich diet, calcium supplements, or calcium-containing antacids such as calcium carbonate (e.g. Tums), the use of sodium bicarbonate can cause milk alkali syndrome, which can result in metastatic calcification, kidney stones, and kidney failure.
